Opportunity SC: 2025 Call for Session Presenters

Opportunity SC is South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development's (SCACED) annual conference; and is the largest comprehensive community development conference in South Carolina. Spanning three days, Wednesday, October 1 through Friday, October 3, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the 26th annual conference will educate attendees of integrated, innovative, and sustainable solutions for low-wealth communities across our state and region. In light of 2025 political and economic climate, Opportunity SC’s overall theme is “Build, Grow, Own, and Thrive "Rooted in Resilience, Rising with Purpose". Despite today’s political and economic challenges. It highlights the ecosystem's ongoing work in affordable housing, rural revitalization, microenterprise support, and advocacy, while reinforcing resilience as the foundation for lasting, equitable change. Opportunity SC: 2025 will help prepare community development organizations to not only prepare, respond, and recover from the unexpected as an organization, but how they can continue to work collaboratively to build wealth and create economic opportunity for all SC residents. Especially low-wealth communities, rural communities, and other groups who have been left out of the economic mainstream and are disproportionately affected by various executive orders and cuts. Within the overall theme, you are encouraged to submit a session proposal focusing on Financial Empowerment, Leadership Development in the Community Economic Development Industry, and Microbusiness Enterprise.
